Great take, thank you! I also fully encourage people to NOT day-trade ... it's a path to misery ... it only 'works' (bit of sarcasm) in a crazy bull market when all things go up almost every single day, but it still does not 'work' cause one gains more just staying invested: capturing all gains and avoiding fees/commissions and precious time! Day-trading is just fantasy sold by scammers ... all empirical evidence shows day-trading is not the way!
To each there own. I never needed a salary job, or worked for a company in 22 years now as a self employed trader. Obviously it’s not for everyone but to have a simplistic view that we lose money in bears markets is well, silly.
glad to hear & happy to be wrong and 'silly' though would need evidence for that ... I heard countless stories about trader's life and stuff (both retail traders and pros in the bank I worked at), but they never showed the books (the books from the banking guys were mediocre at best, many losing when the business cycle was turning and volatility showed up not as expected) ... many were selling courses or other side stuff like a real business or royalties or rental income from RE or so, hence the source or side source was not trading, at least not 100% of it ... or another example is they had a great big portfolio of dividend paying stocks, bonds etc that were covering their lifestyle etc, and the 'trading' was just the fun part ... though claiming they do it all from trading ... also many confuse or have different definitions for 'I am a trader' 'I am an investor' and the terms are used interchangeably ... again, happy to be proven wrong with the 1st example and evidence for trading (for investing no problem, got many and it can work for sure)
Evidence like the life I lived for 22 years.? I have all the taxes and It’s pretty easy and straight forward but why should I waste my time? Silly stuff
If your treating trading as fun your get run over. It’s as serious as any form of investing. Problem is it’s ripe with gambling.
Yes yes we buy real estate with the money we make from trading and even invest. Who would have thunk?? Knowing how to be a effective money manager is a good thing and hedging is what professional traders can do. So thanks my man.
not sure what's your issue/attitude bud ... did not call you silly or out as I never addressed you personally, right? ... u do not need to prove me anything ... free world, glad for you however you did it and how much you did ... for me it's indifferent personally, we are not even in the same countries yet personal relationship, yet I did not leave my manners at the door ... I was just saying my experience from both the banking/hedge funds and also retail/individual investors/traders ... if you an outlier, bravo! Glad that they do exist it seems ... and I am pretty sure u will agree that not many make it especially as as traders ... investors yes, quite some which is great
I don’t have a issue but I hear you it can be very murky. Just letting you know we exist and you can follow my trades and research now. All out in the open. All probabilities
This is where things get murky ... trading vs investing and how much is it due to 'trading' alone ... many people have different definitions for self employed trader or investor
I just use the term trader as the vast majority of my transactions are based on trades plus I started and made my first 100k all with trading. Then buying my real estate holdings and making investments.
Got you. So a trader by your own definition needs to only put all there money in one basket? I think I see the reason you look at is like we are second class citizens.
you made your definition here as mine ... and you inferred from there bogus statements of mine as 2nd class citizens ... only you can say what is the actual definition of a trader or investor ... and if I ask 100 people like you answers will be different from slightly to more ...

Traders do invest to gentleman. My longest investment is MSFT for 2010 to 2017.. lol
Value investing has it moments
Great to hear, nice pick!

cool, as I said, nice pick and approach if it works and if valid ... nothing against anybody making money or anything
Actually was the first couple 100 of thousands of $ around the 2005 before I diversified
